The study's count, before taxes and fees: in the September 28, 2026 snapshot, at 15 of the 18 Hong Kong hotels with a price, the cheapest listing was 5% or more below the going rate. The cheapest site there: klook at 3, Traveluro at 3, Agoda at 1, Bluepillow.com at 1, Bluepillow.de at 1, EaseMyTrip.com at 1, Priceline at 1, Reserving at 1 and 3 other sites at 3 between them. These are the Hong Kong rows of the study's per-hotel CSV (going_rate_usd and cheapest_usd, before taxes and fees).
On this page, all-in: with taxes and fees included as the sites reported them, at 14 of the 18 hotels listed below a site was 5% or more below the all-in going rate. Taxes and fees at Hong Kong hotels
At the 10 hotels with both an all-in and a before-tax going rate, taxes and fees, as the booking sites reported them to Google Hotels, added a median of 3% ($6 a night) to the before-tax going rate: from 3% at Regal Hongkong Hotel to 14% at Homy Hotel Central. At 1 hotel the before-tax going rate was the same as the all-in one: the sites reported no taxes or fees on top. At 7 hotels no site reported a before-tax price, so their prices are listed prices that may leave out resort or property fees. Our data does not split the gap into taxes and fees.
