Yes. Stayforlong is a Barcelona-based online travel agency built around one specific idea: stays of three nights or more earn bigger discounts, and the longer you stay, the deeper the cut. It's a real company that has been operating since 2015, the rooms are real, and the bookings go through. The 3 catches: in our price snapshots Google Hotels showed a free-cancellation label on only 4% of its listings (24 of the 634 hotels where it was listed), refunds and changes are where most online complaints come from, and support is a smaller operation than the giants. How the long-stay discount actually works

Hotels hate turnover: cleaning, check-in admin, and empty-night risk all shrink when one guest stays a week. So many properties will quietly sell a 5-night block cheaper per night than five separate nights. Stayforlong's model is to negotiate and surface exactly that inventory. The discount is real and it genuinely grows with stay length; on longer stays it can beat the mainstream sites, which mostly price per night and sit at parity with each other.

The tradeoff is flexibility. Deeply discounted long-stay rates are usually prepaid, and cancellation terms are stricter than a standard refundable OTA rate. That's also where Stayforlong's reputation takes its hits: when travelers need to change or cancel a prepaid week, a small support team plus strict terms makes for slow, frustrating outcomes. The math only works if your dates are genuinely locked. If they might move, price a refundable rate on a mainstream site or direct with the hotel and treat the gap as the cost of flexibility.

Before you book a prepaid long-stay rate, check three things

  • 1. The all-in total. Compare the price after taxes and fees, not the headline nightly rate.
  • 2. The room type. Make sure it's the same room you'd book direct, not a smaller or "run of house" version.
  • 3. The cancellation terms. A small saving isn't worth it if your plans might change and the rate is non-refundable.

Across 15 snapshots taken between September 22 and October 1, 2026, we priced the same two-night stay on every booking site Google Hotels lists: 6,254 hotel prices in 348 cities. At 4,512 of them some site undercut the going rate by 5% or more. Stayforlong was the cheapest site at 15 of those 4,512, typically 17% below the going rate, and at none of those 15 did it name the room its price was for. For comparison, Super.com was the cheapest site most often (1,239 hotels) and named a room at 0.

So a Stayforlong price that beats everyone is worth opening, but compare the room name and cancellation terms before you pay.

Is Stayforlong a scam?

No. It's a real Barcelona-based OTA that has been operating since 2015. The complaints you'll find online are overwhelmingly about refunds and changes on prepaid rates handled by a small support team, not about fake bookings. Book it with locked dates and verified terms and the typical complaint doesn't apply to you.

Does Stayforlong only work for long stays?

Its offers are built around stays of three nights or more, and its edge grows with length; a 3-night stay might see a modest discount while a week sees a meaningful one. It does list shorter stays: our price snapshots priced two-night stays, and Google Hotels showed a Stayforlong price at 634 hotels. For 1-2 night stays the long-stay discount has little to work with; use a mainstream comparison and check the hotel's own site.

Will the hotel honor my Stayforlong booking?

In the normal case yes; the reservation reaches the hotel like any OTA booking. As with any discount channel, the practical risk is a mismatch on room type or refundability rather than a missing reservation.
