The study's count, before taxes and fees: in the September 28, 2026 snapshot, at 13 of the 18 Kyoto hotels with a price, the cheapest listing was 5% or more below the going rate. The cheapest site there: klook at 5, Super.com at 2, Trip.com at 2, Booking.com at 1, Ikyu.com at 1, JAPANiCAN.com at 1 and the hotel's own site at 1. These are the Kyoto rows of the study's per-hotel CSV (going_rate_usd and cheapest_usd, before taxes and fees).
On this page, all-in: with taxes and fees included as the sites reported them, at 14 of the 18 hotels listed below a site was 5% or more below the all-in going rate. Taxes and fees at Kyoto hotels
