Honest review
Is ZenHotels legit?
A Cyprus company, never the lowest in our data.
ZenHotels.com calls itself a global hotel reservation service. Its About page says it is operated by Leaside Services Limited, registered in Nicosia, Cyprus, and its site footer gives the company's registration number, HE342401, and a licence from Cyprus's Deputy Ministry of Tourism. Its user agreement says the accommodation agreement is between you and the hotel. Google Hotels listed it at only 100 hotels in our price snapshots: the study never recorded it as the lowest price, and its price was the same as Expedia.com's at 50 of the 86 hotels listing both. Here is what we measured, and what to check before you book.
Measured, not sponsored: the numbers come from our own price snapshots. If you book through a link from Underbook we may earn a commission from the booking site you choose, at no cost to you, and it does not change what we show.
The verdict, in plain terms
A real booking site run by a named Cyprus company. In our data it was never the lowest price, usually showed Expedia's price, and its listings never named the room.
What is true in its favor
- A named company: Leaside Services Limited, registration number HE342401, per its About page and site footer; the Cyprus companies register lists company 342401, Leaside Services Limited, as registered
- Its site footer says the company is licensed by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Cyprus (licence 8013)
- Its user agreement says it charges you no fees for its service
- Its listings carried Google's free-cancellation label at 43 of the 100 hotels
Why you should be careful
- The study never recorded it as the lowest price at any of its 100 hotels
- Where its price and Expedia.com's differed on the same tax footing, Expedia.com was lower at 16 hotels and ZenHotels at 9
- Its user agreement says local taxes, such as a tourist tax, may be charged on top and are paid by you
- Its listings named a room at none of its hotels, and it was listed at only 100, so these figures rest on few hotels
Read on October 2, 2026: zenhotels.com's About page, its site footer, its Public Offer Agreement (zenhotels.com/legal/site/privacy) and the Cyprus companies register. We could not confirm licence 8013 on the ministry's published list of travel agencies, and its current booking terms page returned an error. They can change.

ZenHotels next to Expedia
The site whose price ZenHotels matched most often was Expedia.com (50 hotels). Counting all five Expedia Group sites (Expedia, Hotels.com, Travelocity, Orbitz and CheapTickets), its price was one of theirs at 54 of the 94 hotels where any of them was listed. At the 86 hotels where ZenHotels and Expedia.com were both listed in our 14 price snapshots of September 25 to October 1, 2026, it showed the same price at 50. Where the two differed on the same tax footing, Expedia.com was lower at 16 and ZenHotels at 9; at 11 more the two prices could not be put on the same footing. Next to Booking.com it showed the same price at 25 of 88. Where the two differed on the same tax footing, Booking.com was lower at 18 and ZenHotels at 16; at 29 more the two prices could not be put on the same footing.
How often ZenHotels had the lowest price
In the 14 price snapshots of September 25 to October 1, 2026 that recorded every booking site's price, we priced the same two-night stay at 5,830 hotels in 348 cities on every site Google Hotels listed. ZenHotels was listed at 100 of them (34 in the US). The study never recorded ZenHotels as the lowest price at any of them. It showed the same price as the listing recorded as lowest at 6 of them (when two sites show the same lowest rate, the study records the one Google listed first). For comparison, some site was 5% or more below the going rate at 4,181 of the 5,830 hotels, and Super.com was recorded as the lowest most often (1,193 hotels).
Its listings carried Google's free-cancellation label at 43 of the 100 hotels (43%) and named a room at none of them. A price with no room attached may be for the smallest or a non-refundable room, and you cannot tell from the listing.
These are prices from one moment in each snapshot, as Google Hotels showed them (all-in where the site reported taxes and fees, else the nightly rate), not completed bookings. Where two sites' prices differed, we say which was lower only when both were on the same tax footing (both before tax or both after), which we infer from the hotel's going rate with and without taxes, as on trivago vs Expedia. Method and the CSVs are on our hotel price study.
Before you book a ZenHotels price, check four things
- 1. Expedia and one site outside Expedia Group. In our data its price matched Expedia.com's at 50 of 86 hotels, and Expedia.com was the lower one at 16 of the rest compared on the same footing.
- 2. Who you pay, and who the contract is with. Its user agreement is with Emerging Travel Inc., of Dover, Delaware, and says you pay that company or its subsidiary Leaside Services Limited, while the accommodation agreement is between you and the hotel.
- 3. The room and the all-in total. Its listings in our data never named a room. Compare the room name and bed type, and expect local taxes such as a tourist tax on top, which its user agreement says you pay.
- 4. The cancellation terms. Its user agreement says a refund after cancellation goes back to your account within 14 working days, and that changing or cancelling a non-refundable booking depends on the hotel. See whether free cancellation is worth it.
Underbook (built by us) is a free browser extension that helps with the comparison while you shop. On a hotel page it shows other booking sites' prices for the same hotel and dates side by side, all-in where the sites report taxes and fees, and says whether a cheaper listing names the same room or needs a check before you book.
