Is Pilot legit?

Yes. Pilot is a trip planning and booking site at pilotplans.com, and its terms say it is owned and operated by HappyHour Services Inc., with a business address in North Vancouver, British Columbia. For hotels it is an intermediary: its terms say it acts as a booking intermediary service for the hotel or other travel provider. Treat a low price as a lead to check: in our data its cheapest hotel listings never named the room.

Sometimes. In our September 2026 price snapshots Pilot was the cheapest site at 19 hotels where some site was 5% or more below the going rate, typically 17% below, 11 of them in the US. Across 3,753 hotel prices in 199 cities that is a small share: most of the time another site was lower. At none of the 22 times it had the lowest price did its listing name the room.

We cannot see why. We can see where: 21 of the 22 times Pilot had the lowest price were at chain hotels (Hilton, IHG, Wyndham and others). Chains sell the same hotel under several rates, and a price that does not name the room may be for a different room or rate than the one you picked on the chain's own site. Compare the room and the cancellation terms before you book.

It depends on the booking. Pilot's terms say cancellation, modification and name change fees are shown at the time of booking, and that the booking is also subject to the hotel's own cancellation policy. Read them before you pay.

Check the room name and bed type against the hotel's own site, compare the all-in total (Pilot's terms say local taxes due on arrival may not be included), and read the cancellation terms. Pilot's terms also say the hotel's own confirmation code may only be issued closer to check-in, so keep Pilot's code and contact the hotel before you travel.
