Is Traveloka legit?
A real Singapore company. Check the room.
Traveloka is one of Southeast Asia's big travel booking sites, and its hotel prices show up on Google Hotels next to Agoda and Booking.com. Its terms name Traveloka Services Pte. Ltd., a Singapore company, as the provider. In our own data it was the cheapest site for 21 hotel prices, 19 of them in Asia. But those cheapest listings never named the room. Here is what we measured and how to check a Traveloka price before you pay.

The verdict, in plain terms

How often Traveloka is the cheapest hotel listing, and what its price leaves out
Across 15 snapshots taken between September 22 and October 1, 2026, we recorded every booking site's price that Google Hotels showed for the same two-night stay, 6,254 hotel prices in 348 cities. At 4,512 of them some site was 5% or more below the rate most sites agreed on. Traveloka was the cheapest site at 20 of those 4,512, tied for twenty-second overall and typically 19% below the going rate, 18 of them in Asia (Seoul 7, Bali 5, Singapore 3) and 2 elsewhere (Vail 1, Marseille 1).
The catch: across all 21 times Traveloka had the lowest price, its listing named the room 0 times. When Agoda was cheapest it named the room at 264 of 380 hotels; Booking.com at 320 of 396; Vio.com at 99 of 538. A price with no room attached may be for the smallest or a non-refundable room, and you cannot tell from the listing. 20 of Traveloka's 21 cheapest prices were at independent hotels, the rest at chains.
These are before-tax prices from one moment in each snapshot, not completed bookings. Method and the CSVs are on our hotel price study.
Before you book a Traveloka price, check four things
- 1. The room. Open the listing and compare the room name and bed type with the room you would book on the hotel's site.
- 2. The all-in total. Compare the price after taxes and fees, in your own currency, not the headline nightly rate.
- 3. When you pay, and the cancellation terms. Each Traveloka booking carries its own change, cancellation and refund rules; note them before you pay. A 19% saving on a non-refundable room is a bad trade if your plans might change. See whether free cancellation is worth it.
- 4. The hotel. After booking, contact the hotel with your confirmation number and check it can see the reservation, well before you travel.

Across 6,254 hotel prices in 348 cities that is a small share: most of the time another site was lower. At none of the 21 times it had the lowest price did its listing name the room.
Can I cancel a Traveloka hotel booking?
It depends on the room. Traveloka's terms say each booking follows its product terms, including the change, cancellation, refund and no-show policies set by the hotel or supplier, and that confirming the booking means you accept them. Read the cancellation line on the room before you pay.
What should I check before booking a Traveloka price?
Check the room name and bed type against the hotel's own site, compare the all-in total in your own currency, and read the cancellation terms shown before you book. After booking, contact the hotel with your confirmation number well before you travel.
