Honest review
Is Bluepillow legit?
A real Italian search site. Know who you are booking with.
Bluepillow (bluepillow.com) is a travel search site built mostly around vacation rentals (its About page counts more than 10 million listings), and its hotel prices show up on Google Hotels under the name "Bluepillow.com" next to Expedia and Booking.com. Its terms name Blue Pillow S.p.A., of Milan, as the company behind it, and say plainly that it is not a travel agency: the room is sold by another provider. In our own data it was the cheapest site for 44 hotel prices, and the 21 of them at least 5% below the going rate were most often in Asia, the Middle East and Africa and in Europe (7 each). But those cheapest listings never named the room. Here is what we measured and how to check a Bluepillow price before you pay.
We have no affiliate relationship with Bluepillow. Underbook (built by us) leads with the lowest price it finds, whoever lists it, and says whether it names your room.
The verdict, in plain terms
A real search site with a named company behind it. Its low price is a lead to check: the listing does not say which room it is, and the booking is with a provider Bluepillow names only when you book.
What is true in its favor
- Its prices appear on Google Hotels next to the major booking sites
- Its terms and privacy policy name the company: Blue Pillow S.p.A., Milan, VAT number IT09929610963, in the Milan companies register
- Sometimes the lowest: the cheapest site at 21 hotels 5%+ below the going rate in our data, typically 13% below
Why you should be careful
- Its cheapest listings named the room 0 times out of 44
- Its terms: Bluepillow is not a travel agency; a travel agency or other provider sells the room, and that provider's terms apply
- Its terms: for problems, complaints or refunds you go to that provider, not Bluepillow
- One of its gaps in our data was 86% below the going rate: a price that far below every other site is a reason to check the room and dates twice

Measured, September 22 to October 1, 2026
How often Bluepillow is the cheapest hotel listing
Across 15 snapshots taken between September 22 and October 1, 2026, we recorded every booking site's price that Google Hotels showed for the same two-night stay, 6,254 hotel prices in 348 cities. At 4,512 of them some site was 5% or more below the rate most sites agreed on. Bluepillow was the cheapest site at 21 of those 4,512, tied for nineteenth overall and typically 13% below the going rate: 7 in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, 7 in Europe, 5 in the US, 2 elsewhere in the Americas.
33 of the 44 times Bluepillow had the lowest price were at independent hotels. Its largest gap stands out: 86% below the going rate at The Concept Hotel HCMC- District 1 (Ho Chi Minh City); the next was 39% at JO&JOE Auckland (Auckland). And across all 44, its listing named the room 0 times. When Agoda was cheapest it named the room at 264 of 380 hotels; Booking.com at 320 of 396; Vio.com at 99 of 538. A price with no room attached may be for the smallest or a non-refundable room, and you cannot tell from the listing.
These are before-tax prices from one moment in each snapshot, not completed bookings. Method and the CSVs are on our hotel price study.
Before you book a Bluepillow price, check four things
- 1. The room. Open the listing and compare the room name and bed type with the room you would book on the hotel's own site.
- 2. The all-in total. Compare the price after taxes and fees, in your own currency, on the final booking screen.
- 3. Who sells it. Bluepillow's terms say the provider and its booking terms are shown when you book, and that provider handles changes and refunds. If you do not recognize the name, look it up before you pay.
- 4. The cancellation terms. They are the provider's, not Bluepillow's. A 13% saving on a non-refundable room is a bad trade if your plans might change. See whether free cancellation is worth it.
Underbook (built by us) is a free browser extension that does the first two for you while you shop. On a hotel page it shows other booking sites' prices for the same hotel and dates side by side, and says whether a cheaper listing names the same room or needs a check before you book. We earn nothing from Bluepillow.
Bluepillow: common questions
Is Bluepillow legit?
Yes, as a search site. Bluepillow's terms and privacy policy name the company behind it: Blue Pillow S.p.A., Ripa di Porta Ticinese 63, Milan, Italy, VAT number IT09929610963, registered with the Milan companies register. Its terms say it is not a travel agency: the room is sold by a travel agency, hotel or other provider, and Bluepillow passes your booking to that provider. Treat its low price as a lead to check: in our data its cheapest hotel listings never named the room.
Is Bluepillow cheaper than other booking sites?
Sometimes. In our price snapshots from September 22 to October 1, 2026 Bluepillow was the cheapest site at 21 hotels where some site was 5% or more below the going rate, typically 13% below, 7 of them in Asia, the Middle East and Africa and 7 in Europe. Across 6,254 hotel prices in 348 cities that is a small share: most of the time another site was lower. At none of the 44 times it had the lowest price did its listing name the room.
Who do I actually book with on Bluepillow?
A travel agency or other provider, not Bluepillow. Its terms say the provider's name and its booking terms are shown to you at the time of booking, that Bluepillow forwards the booking to the travel agency named there, and that the agency then emails you the details. Read that provider's terms before you pay.
Can I cancel a Bluepillow booking?
That depends on the provider you book with. Bluepillow's terms say the provider's terms set your rights, including cancellation, and that for problems, complaints or refunds you contact the travel agency that handled the booking, not Bluepillow. Check the cancellation policy shown at booking.
Does Bluepillow get paid by the sites it shows?
Yes. Its terms mention the compensation Bluepillow receives from travel agencies, and say that neither the price nor that compensation is a factor in how it orders results, which it ranks by relevance (reviews, clicks, bookings and similar). A "Recommended by us" label marks listings whose hosts pay a fee.
How do I compare a Bluepillow price with other sites?
Underbook is a free browser extension that shows every site's price for your hotel and dates side by side and says whether the cheaper listing names your room. You can also check a hotel on underbook.co without installing anything.
