Honest review
Is Luxury Escapes legit?
Yes. Often Expedia's price, exactly.
Luxury Escapes sells handpicked travel offers and packages, and it also shows up on Google Hotels with plain room rates next to Expedia and Booking.com. It is a real company, founded in Melbourne in 2013, that books as your agent. In our data its listed price was the same as Expedia.com's at 631 of 1,282 stays both listed, and lower at 525. But when it was the cheapest site, its listing never named the room, and its terms let it adjust a price up to check-in even after you pay. Here is what we measured and how to check a Luxury Escapes price before you book.
We have no affiliate relationship with Luxury Escapes. Underbook (built by us) leads with the lowest price it finds, whoever lists it, and says whether it names your room.
The verdict, in plain terms
A real, named company that is usually priced like Expedia on plain hotel rates, sometimes a little below. It is an agent, not the hotel, and its terms give it more room than most to change a price after you pay: check the room, the all-in total and the terms before you book.
What is true in its favor
- Named companies: Luxury Escapes Travel Pty Ltd in Australia, Luxury Escapes (Singapore) Pte Ltd for every other country site
- Luxury Escapes Travel Corporation is a registered Seller of Travel in California and Florida
- Its listed price was the same as or below Expedia.com's at 1,156 of 1,282 stays both listed in our data
Why you should be careful
- Its cheapest listings named the room 0 times out of 21
- Its terms let it adjust prices up to and including check-in, even after you have paid in full, for currency moves or supplier increases
- It books as your agent: the hotel or supplier is the seller, and any legal claim about the stay is against them
- You need an account to book, and US bookings are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia

Measured, September 22 to October 1, 2026
How Luxury Escapes prices compare
Across 15 snapshots taken between September 22 and October 1, 2026, we recorded every booking site's price that Google Hotels showed for the same two-night stay, 6,254 hotel prices in 348 cities. In the snapshots that keep every site's price, Luxury Escapes listed 1,364 hotels, 1,087 of them in the US. Where Expedia.com listed the same stay too, the listed price was the same 631 times; Luxury Escapes was lower 525 times, typically by 7%, and higher 126 times, typically by 5%. Its terms say any product it sources from a third party falls under the Expedia Partner Solutions terms. Against Booking.com it was lower 662 of 1,288 times.
Luxury Escapes was the cheapest site for only 21 hotel prices. At 4,512 hotels some site was 5% or more below the rate most sites agreed on, and Luxury Escapes was the cheapest at 12 of those, typically 8% below the going rate: 10 in the US and 2 in the Americas outside it, in 12 cities. 11 of the 21 were at chain hotels. Its largest gaps: 27% below the going rate at ClubHouse Hotel & Suites (Sioux Falls) and 27% at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua (Maui).
Across all 21, its listing named the room 0 times. A price with no room attached may be for the smallest or a non-refundable room, and you cannot tell from the listing.
These are before-tax prices from one moment in each snapshot, not completed bookings, and they are plain room rates, not Luxury Escapes' packages. Method and the CSVs are on our hotel price study.
Before you book a Luxury Escapes price, check four things
- 1. The room. Compare the room name and bed type with the room you would book on the hotel's own site. Its cheapest listings in our data never named one, and its terms say imagery is representational only.
- 2. The all-in total. Compare the price after taxes and fees, in your own currency, on the final booking screen, and read the offer's Fine Print for charges paid at the hotel.
- 3. Whether Expedia has the same price. In our data it usually did. If the price is the same, book where the cancellation terms and support suit you best.
- 4. The cancellation terms. They depend on the offer and the supplier. See whether free cancellation is worth it.
Underbook (built by us) is a free browser extension that does the first three for you while you shop. On a hotel page it shows other booking sites' prices for the same hotel and dates side by side, and says whether a cheaper listing names the same room or needs a check before you book. We earn nothing from Luxury Escapes.
Luxury Escapes: common questions
Is Luxury Escapes legit?
Yes. In the snapshots that record every site's price, Luxury Escapes and Expedia.com both listed the same hotel and dates 1,282 times: the listed price was the same 631 times, Luxury Escapes was lower 525 times (typically by 7%) and higher 126 times (typically by 5%). Can Luxury Escapes change the price after I pay?
Its terms say so. They reserve the right, up to and including the check-in date, to adjust fees, charges or prices to reflect currency moves or supplier rate increases even if you have paid in full, and to correct pricing errors after payment. Taxes or charges paid directly to the hotel are listed in the offer's Fine Print.
Do I need an account to book with Luxury Escapes?
Yes. Its terms say you must be a registered member, with your name and email, to buy anything on the site.
